Our Story

The Spirit of Mushara

The greatest asset of the Mushara Collection is the staff – they are the spirit!

This wonderful African story all began 25 years ago when Mariza and Marc Pampe started building the Mushara Lodge. The dream took a year to become a reality. Following the spectacular Lodge, the couple added two exquisite Villas in 2003, then followed up with the private Mushara Outpost in 2007. Finally in 2009, came the Mushara Bush Camp.

The Mushara Collection was finally completed, catering to the most discerning traveller and offering a superb combination of splendid accommodation, exceptional cuisine and personal service for an unforgettable experience.

All of the above offerings would not have been possible were it not for what Marc and Mariza call ‘The Spirt of Mushara’ which refers to the staff of the Mushara Collection.

It speaks volumes that two of the staff members, Rosalia Nekwaya and Maria Kangoma, who attended the wedding between Marc and Mariza 25 years ago at Mushara Lodge, are still with them today. 7 other members of staff have been there for over 20 years and another 16 have been there for over 13 years.

Mika Shapwanale, General Manager at the Mushara Collection, has infused his passion for an excellent guest experience with the very highest standards of service. The Mushara staff are at the forefront of the Mushara Collection’s success, going above and beyond any expectations from host and guests alike.

The Mushara Collection

Mushara will leave you yearning for more, long after your departure

Stunning lodge - luxury without pretentiousness!

Safari in general is expensive, but Mushara Outpost delivers value for money. The lodge is beautifully designed and the tents are magical. It has an authenticity and simplicity about it that removes any pretentiousness and gives you a luxurious and relaxing experience. The staff, all locals, are attentive to your needs and go the extra mile. And the FOOD… so good!

Two days of bliss

A really well run, attractive and comfortable property. A really great bush experience. The “tents” are really great and comfortable. Staff very friendly, attentive and professional! Food was really tops, inventive, well prepared and presented. A stones through from Etosha, which was really kind to us. Absolutely loved it, you will see us again! Excellent value for money.

A lodge with real wow factor!

We stayed at the camp for 2 days and I honestly wish we stayed for longer. Absolutely gorgeous setting, we specifically loved the decor and furniture – clean, stylish and open plan. The food is world class – Not only was everything presented beautifully, but it also tasted delicious! The staff are so friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to go back!
